KNG Health Launches Website

KNG Health Consulting, LLC (KNG Health) is pleased to announce the launch of its website today (www.knghealth.com). A health economics and policy firm, KNG Health specializes in objective and data-driven analyses that address real-world health policy challenges. KNG Health contributes to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare by applying economic concepts and rigorous analytic techniques to understand healthcare markets. Lane Koenig, PhD, founded the company in March 2007 after serving as chief economist in the Office of Policy at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

In its first year, the company provided services to a diverse client base, including Federal and State governments, and trade associations representing providers, hospitals, and medical device manufacturers. The focus of the work has been equally varied. KNG Health assisted the State of Vermont in developing a primary-care payment model to support its Blueprint for Health initiative and provided analysis to the State of California to conduct physician payment reform under its workers compensation program. The company also modeled alternative approaches to constructing the hospital wage index used by the Medicare program and assisted clients in responding to proposed Medicare rules for hospital outpatient departments and long-term care hospitals.
