In a report for the American Hospital Association, KNG Health compared the characteristics of patients treated in hospital outpatient departments and in physicians’ offices.  The slide deck, featured on the AHA website, highlighted key differences in patient characteristics associated with both settings, as well as in characteristics of care delivery in both settings.  To the extent that these differences result in variations in the cost of care, site-neutral payments may have adverse effects on patient access to care.  For a direct link to the slide deck, click here.
