KNG Health Seeking Research Assistants/Associates

KNG Health Consulting, a health policy and health economics firm in North Bethesda, Maryland, has openings at the Research Assistant and Research Associate levels. We are seeking candidates with a BA/BS plus 1-3 years of work experience or with a master’s degree.  Candidates should have a strong interest in health policy and health economics and quantitative and/or qualitative research skills. Candidates should also have strong communication and writing skills. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Medicare payment systems and experience working with Medicare claims data.

Minimum Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide general research and project coordination support for health policy research projects.
  • Contribute to written reports, policy briefs, and proposals
  • Review and summarize regulations.

For quantitative researchers:

  • Construct datasets using variety of sources. Database construction includes cleaning and preparing data for analysis, automating data checks, etc., using Stata or similar tools.
  • Perform analyses using statistical software (e.g., Excel, Stata, R, SAS). Experience in Python and VBA also welcomed.

For qualitative researchers:

  • Conduct literature review, environmental scans, and general web-based research.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of healthcare reform and payment innovation policies, including modeling innovative state and federal proposals that impact health insurance coverage and estimating the impact of regulatory and legislative proposals on hospitals and other healthcare providers. Researchers have opportunities to publish their work and present at national health policy conferences. In recent years, KNG Health researchers have published papers in JAMA Health Forum, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, American Journal of Medical QualityHealth Affairs, Journal of Medical Economics, ClinicoEconomics and Outcomes Research, Journal of Arthroplasty, Journal for Healthcare Quality, Health Services Research, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Foot & Ankle International.

The work environment is collegial and productive. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, creative, and have a passion for doing high-quality work. Our offices are located in North Bethesda MD, and our researchers work in the office 3 days per week and remotely 2 days per week.
