Since 2013, KNG Health has assisted the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation in modeling the impact of CMS’s inpatient and outpatient proposed and final payment rules each year on the state’s payments to providers caring for Ohio injured workers. Using claims data from the state and KNG Health’s proprietary Inpatient Prospective Payment System and Outpatient Prospective Payment System pricer software, KNG Health estimates payments, reviews the results with state analysts to determine the appropriate state-specific policy adjustments to be applied for the state’s worker compensation program, and makes policy recommendations.
