KNG Health was commissioned to model the potential impact of the Medicare Payment Advisory Committee’s (MedPAC) “site-neutral payment policy.” MedPAC identified a total of 66 ambulatory payment classifications (APCs) for “site-neutral payment.” To examine the impact of this policy on Ambulatory Payment Classifications, we used our proprietary Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) pricer to price outpatient claims, and a physician fee schedule to reprice the claims corresponding to the 66 APCs. The results of this analysis were summarized in an MS Excel file at the hospital level.
